LONDON, UK – 3 December 2015: OpenTable, the world’s leading online restaurant booking service, today marks a year of world class dining by releasing its annual list of top 100 best restaurants in the UK, based on reviews left by verified diners.

Taking the number one spot this year is London’s award winning The Ledbury, where celebrated Head Chef Brett Graham pairs innovative cooking with fine wines in a smart, modern setting.

British, European and French cuisine dominate the top 100. Over a quarter (26) of the featured restaurants serve British cuisine, followed 18 European and 13 French. The only vegetarian/vegan restaurant to make the top 100 list is Brighton’s Food for Friends.

Foodie capital London continues to dominate the UK’s culinary landscape, with all of the top 10 restaurants found in the city. The top 10 list features established London favourites such as The SavoyDinner by Heston Blumenthal and last year’s winner, Restaurant Story.

Mike Xenakis, Managing Director of OpenTable International, comments “The restaurant reviews left by diners are of the upmost importance, giving helpful opinions and advice to other OpenTable users, ensuring they discover the right dining experience every time. As this year’s results show, London continues to reign as the foodie capital but we are excited to see restaurants from across the UK, including Manchester, Newcastle, Brighton and Canterbury, also included in the list. We are extremely pleased to highlight these standout restaurants and give them, and their hard working chefs and staff, some well-deserved recognition.”

The top 100 best restaurants 2015 list is generated from more than 480,000 reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners in the past year.

All restaurants with a minimum number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants are sorted according to an overall score which takes into account a number of criteria including each restaurant’s average rating, along with that restaurant’s rating relative to others in the same metropolitan area and the average number of restaurants reviewed by diners who reviewed that restaurant.
